@Tejasvi_Surya deleting his now infamous tweet is a panicked try at destroying the evidence, not the result of genuine remorse or even regret. To argue that he merely quoted Tarek Fatah is cowardly bec it shows he agreed with Tarek and was willing to be associated with him.
If he had any sense of public decency he would quit politics for a while, lie low reflect and study politics phiolosophy and economics. If he had been an elected MP in any other democracy he would have been ordered to resign or would have been sacked from the Party.
If he had been a high up Party functionary in a dictatorship led by an educated leader (say China for example) he would be toast by now. But none of these apply in Tejasvi's case. The view he expressed and the attitude towards Islam and women are not his unique outlandish view.
He was a Party loyalist who tweeted something hateful, despicable and vile because he thought, rightly as it turned out, that it was a view that would be welcomed both by the Party hierarchy AND his voters. His Party godfathers gave him a ticket, the electorate voted for him.
