NHK confirms that coronavirus-appropriate hospital beds are 80%+ filled in Tokyo, Osaka, Ishikawa, Hyogo, Shiga, and Okinawa.

Experts threshold of concern for imminent impact on medical care is 30%, again per NHK.

NHK reports that several prefectures which were unable to sustain the prior strategy of hospitalizing all diagnosed cases have begun moving less severely affected patients to hotels/etc or asking them to self-sequester at home, temporarily freeing up bed space.
NHK reports that while reprioritization of hospitalization strategy and urgent measures to add more beds may buy some time, the situation risks a collapse in the provision of medical care, and that experts explain we cannot be optimistic.

I feel very happy as a user of technology when it acts as leverage for my ability to think and very unhappy when I am forced to do bookkeeping, conversions, etc which it would clearly be able to do better and which distract me from actual thought.

Partly this is a combination cultural problem at the bank and skill problem for the developer.

Partly it’s “just” an underlying technology problem. The framework/language should have solved for this by now.

Partly it’s a philosophy of computing problem. Goal is not “move data”!

Circular from building management to residents pointed out that building across street had a positive test result and that we should be extra cautious.

This is a communications challenge.

Coronavirus has been epidemic in Tokyo for a month+; one should be new normal cautious.
The stigmatization of a particularly person / building doesn't help matters and, when they are better in +/- 2 weeks, that should not move the needle at all on relative danger level for people out and about in the neighborhood, because coronavirus is epidemic in Tokyo.
Note this sort of communications challenge would be easier for e.g. superintendents at buildings to navigate if they were getting clear, consistent guidance from people who control information channels, who are getting clear, consistent guidance from people who know ground truth.
