I marked the story in the morning to read tonight but decided it wasn't worth my time as soon as I saw that he hired Debra Katz. Too many red flags.
Seems rather obvious that he had issues long before this and now viewed it as an opportunity to get sympathy and make himself into a political martyr:
SMH. No one should have reported on his original statement portraying himself as a whistleblower without at least some investigation of the claims.

Bright hired activist attorney to push claim to the media: He was a whistleblower removed for opposing spending $ on anti-Malaria drug.

Reality: He praised the acquisition, supported usage of the drug, & removal has been discussed for some time do to his leadership style.

1) How does anyone justify the media's almost complete blackout of the Reade allegation?

Even by typical media bias standards, it's insane that Biden has not been asked directly about it yet.
2) The double standard many are applying, especially compared to the Kavanaugh saga, is revealing. It's clear that they didn't believe they said then & simply viewed it as a political opportunity. Should be a permanent stain on their reputations.

3) IMO the Reade allegation, while having much more evidence than the Kavanaugh accusations, has a lot of red flags. That doesn't excuse the lack of coverage or blatant double standard, but I do find the sexual assault allegation itself to be questionable.

This is a good reflection of Nikole Hannah-Jones' approach to almost all intellectual discussions. No different than when she dismissed criticism of her work from leading historians because of their skin color.

Horrifying that the NYT continues to give her such a large platform
Here was the original tweet from @baseballcrank countering her attack on Van Jones and ignorant insistence that African Americans have no control over their own lives.

Imagine accusing VAN JONES(!!!) of promoting racism because he is encouraging that people in the community being hit hardest by the COVID-19 virus try to adjust their lifestyle choices to improve their chances against it IN ADDITION to changes in our public systems.

Crazy.

This is wrong for several reasons, but using this logic:

Shouldn't people who support choice for abortion ("control of my own body") then also support choice for people who want the choice to go back to normal despite the potential harm to them & others (my body, my choice)?
The reality is that we make calculations that balance liberty and life on almost every issue. Setting the speed limit at 55 instead of 25 is almost guaranteed to lead to more car accidents/deaths. So is allowing driving. We have to be honest about those tradeoffs.
Then we can have an honest discussion about what measurable and which concessions must be made to save lives, and which ones aren't worth it. But the idea that no tradeoffs are allowed and we must accept any measures that would save any lives is just nonsensical.
