It’s obvious that Trump’s war on accountability is escalating. Don’t let him win the war by forgetting the last scandal, or forgetting all the things he is hiding from the people. Here’s a list:

2016- Trump refuses to release his tax returns

2017- Trump refuses to divest, makes senior White House staff sign non-disclosure agreements, stops releasing White House visitor logs, fires James Comey for insufficient loyalty
Still, 2017- White House says it won’t answer oversight requests, Manafort and Gates get indicted (Trump says Clinton should be investigated instead)
2018- Trump tears up official records, fires Jeff Sessions for not “unrecusing” from the Russia investigation, Trump admin fails to make records of family separations
2019- Trump says he prefers “acting” officials who aren’t Senate confirmed, keeps records of meetings with Putin secret, Michael Cohen testifies that Trump paid him for hush money scheme
Still, 2019- AG Barr releases 4 page Mueller report summary, Trump claims “total exoneration,” WH stops holding press briefings, Trump ignores recommendation that Kellyanne Conway should be fired for breaking the law
Even more 2019- House launches impeachment inquiry, WH ignores subpoenas, WH keeps other call records on classified servers after Ukraine scandal, Trump attacks whistleblower and impeachment witnesses
2020- Trump is acquitted after a trial with no witnesses, fails to tell Congress about Soleimani strike, launches “loyalty purge” in the government, interferes in Roger Stone’s sentencing, fires and disempowers inspectors general
None of these actions should be interpreted as a single event. Taken together, you can see them for what they are: an annihilation of the checks on presidential power.

So, Jared Kushner had quite a week...

In case you had trouble keeping up with all of Jared’s problematic behavior, we made a list. It’s long. Some of the things he did are apparently illegal, some just look really bad:
We’ll start with the fact that his “shadow” task force uses private email accounts, apparently violating both the Presidential Records Act and FACA.

We filed a complaint:

But apparently running the shadow task force has not kept him fully informed. Last night he told Americans that the national stockpile of emergency supplies is “our” stockpile and not for states.

What does that even mean?

In 2019, taxpayers paid $7.6 million per day for immigrant detention. Congress appropriates these funds, and could require private prison contracts to include transparency measures.

Deaths in detention centers even before this pandemic show that Congress needs to step up.
Private prisons account for 70% of immigration detainees, and poor conditions like overcrowding and inadequate medical treatment increase health risks.

Yet private prisons can hide conditions and outcomes because they aren't subject to transparency laws. washingtonpost.com/immigration/co…
Detainees in crowded immigration jails are particularly vulnerable to communicable diseases, even in the absence of a pandemic.

The coronavirus spread shows the urgent need for transparency measures in private prisons that contract with DHS.

Congress must act.

This is dangerous. After a weekend of criticism of his administration's coronavirus response, in which he made promotional appearances at multiple Trump properties, the president is now denying the gravity of the situation.
