Yet again, President Trump turns disaster response into a campaign event, wearing a hat his campaign's website is currently featuring for $29. As we've seen, this kind of cross promotion is the default for Trump.
There's no question that it's a campaign hat. It even says TRUMP 2020 on it. Believe it or not, he does this a lot. In fact, turning disaster response into campaign gear promotion is part of his playbook.
We first saw it with Hurricane Harvey, in the early days of the Trump presidency. We couldn't have known back then just how often we'd see him do it. washingtonpost.com/news/postevery…

The Washington Post reported last night that President Trump is revamping the pardon process to go through the White House.

This is yet another instance of the reshaping the justice system to accommodate Trump, and the team he's assembled is...not ideal:
Leading the group is Jared Kushner, who was only allowed to join the WH after DOJ reversed 4 nepotism opinions.

He’s managing Trump’s campaign, which received $200K from the family of someone Trump pardoned.

And he recently violated the Hatch Act.

Pam Bondi recently defended Trump in the impeachment trial, but is best known for taking an illegal $25,000 donation from the Trump Foundation when she was Florida AG, and then failing to take any action on complaints against Trump University.

#Coronavirus shouldn’t be a political story, but it is. Your party has spent decades waging war on science and eroding public trust in the very people and institutions we need the most right now. So no, we aren’t just going to ignore the consequences of that.
-Our preparedness is impacted by decisions made by politicians.
-Our response to coronavirus is impacted by decisions made by politicians.
-People’s ability to get health care is impacted by decisions made by politicians.

You can’t just leave that out of the story.
And yes it would be great if everyone could just listen to the doctors and scientists and get their information on coronavirus from reliable, reputable sources, but your party has convinced a substantial # of people that science and news are biased and not to be trusted, so...
