This is DESPICABLE, outrageous behavior from @UberEats.

They are now saying that they can no longer deliver to Treasure Island residents bc of new regulations capping commissions.

So they are RETALIATING against SF by punishing one of our most low income, isolated communities

Treasure Island is 10 min from downtown without traffic. There haven’t even been many deliveries overall.

They are a company worth billions. This isn’t about cost.

This is retaliation. And it is blatantly discriminatory.

I’m disgusted by this. @Uber this is shameful.

The caps on commissions are to protect small businesses and ensure they can survive during a GLOBAL PANDEMIC.

Uber responds by cutting off access to essential goods from low income communities of color like Treasure Island.

Honestly, this is despicable and discriminatory.

This isn’t about any losses to go to TI. The obvious goal here was to make a point about the commission cap. There’s no reason to it on backs of treasure island. They could have done a surcharge. There are very few deliveries out there and no traffic.

Like is now really the time you want to defend a massive corporation as they exclude our city's most vulnerable, isolated community. This is less than pennies to them

I had nothing to do the original regulation. The deliveries on TI are minimal, likely just a couple a day. We are in a global pandemic. They still could even charge a higher delivery fee. People within the company have told me that TI is being used as a bargaining chip.
