Daily, I watch four #Covid19 briefings. Daily, I call out the UK's for lacking seriousness and sombreness, only to be told I'm being biased, negative, unpatriotic, etc.

Have a look.
There's an internal sadness from knowing thousands are mourning loved ones; a crushing weight that comes from it happening on your watch.

Then there's the faux-sadness of a bad TV Breakfast host, who knows after the 3-minute cancer item, they can cheer right up for fashion tips.
Maybe I'm extra sensitive because of my profession, but I guess what has bugged me, all this time, is that - with very few exceptions - I have seen no real, heartfelt emotion in the UK briefing at what is happening. Only bad actors, coached how to behave, *demonstrating* sad.
And I know that a glimpse of contrition, a tiny spark of humanity, wouldn't actually make any difference. But I also know it would make all the difference.
