2. Reason one: The people we have entrusted with running this country are ALL THIEVES. We know without a doubt that if we contribute to their PAYBILL they will steal that money just the way they have robbed this nation since they took power after independence.

3. Reason two: They are unable to use #Covid_19 to emotionally blackmail us into contributing because they cannot bombard us with adverts and pictures of suffering patients. A tactic used very well by @KenyaRedCross during the KENYA FOR KENYANS fundraiser.

4. Why is #PovertyPorn so powerful and effective? It is because when we are visually assaulted with images of suffering people, we are guilt tripped into helping. This has been used for decades by NGOs and individuals seeking funding as 'rescuers'. #KOT oaktree.org/poverty_porn_1…
#5. Politicians are fond of using #PovertyPorn too. Even going an extra step to put their images on donated goods closely followed by cameras to announce their good deeds. But who benefits from this exploitation of the poor? Why is it necessary to parade them? #KOT

9. If #PovertyPorn works for those it purports to help. Why is it they are still in the same situation year in year out and only those who parade them benefit? Is it because it is designed specifically for that purpose, SELF AGGRANDIZEMENT? Is it why politicians love it so much?
10. I have happily contributed to the three initiatives because I took time to understand what they were asking Kenyans to be a part of and I can trust them and their work. People contribute genuinely to people. The era of #PovertyPorn must end with #Covid_19. Be better humans!
