Should be an interesting day today. Might test the resistance in this new trading range that has formed over the last couple weeks.
Dow opens up +112 pts
SP500 up +0.75%
Nasdaq up +0.9%

Oil down again Brent is under $20.00/bl

10 year treasury at 0.626%
one hour in and the markets are keeping their gains of about 1% but no major swings ATM.
After lunch update.

Markets continue to hold gains

Dow back over 24,000. Still holding within the trading range formed a couple weeks ago.

OIL having trouble again.
45 minutes to go in another action packed day of trading. Rally gaining steam

Dow up +392pts
SP500 +1.6%
Nasdaq +1.1%

Oil down 22% (june contract) to $13/Bl
Nat Gas is up 4.4%
gold and precious metals pretty much flat for the day
10 year Treasury steady
VIx down 8% (good)
A little sell off at the end there, but the markets stayed in the trading range of the last few weeks. I would think we will try to break through resistance tomorrow, if that fails will probably have a down day as the seasaw trading resumes until more clarity is known.

You see, it's headlines like this that required Trump to push guidelines of shelter in place and social distancing.

If we had a real media instead of the fake media we have now, those considerations wouldn't be needed but imagine how long a leader could withstand these types of headlines while appearing to do nothing. It would have been Katrina times 100. Trump understood that.
Going against the "experts" and keeping everything open while battling against headlines from the propaganda wing of the Dem party(the fake media) would have been an unwinnable political battle.

Also Headlines like this would have brought the economy to a standstill anyhow.

Vix continues to fall (good)

Still in the trading range set 2wks ago

This is what many people do not understand. Regardless of government lock down orders, the economy would have ground to a stop either way as the virus spread.
If you has a widespread pandemic or a fake media that made it appear that the pandemic was widespread then almost 90% of the people would have stayed home on their own. That means people would call off sick. Many would have quit their jobs. Without the government orders then
...there would have been little fiscal or monetary stimulus from Congress as Congress only operates during crisis. All other times they play politics( and even during a crisis as Pelosi and the dems showed they still play politics). Many businesses would have failed as customers
