1. I entered politics as a progressive anti-war activist.
2. Establishment leaders asked me to build their relationship with the grassroots.
3. I agreed to help, believing I could change the system from within...

4. After a number of years working for the Democratic Party, I recognized that I was powerless to change it from the inside.
5. In the past two years, I began reconnecting with my initial approach of the Bush years, as an outside activist.
