So we're watching The Crown and in one of the episodes the queen is pointedly not eating what looks like it might be steak-frites with haricots verts, and you know people on TV usually don't eat their food but she was like, in-universe not eating it and I want fries so badly.
And I couldn't fit this in that tweet but I will block every single person who decides to pipe in with "Drive-thru?" or "Maybe there's a delivery service?" because why do you think this is brand new information, why do you think other people's thoughts are puzzles for you.
I just spent $80 on a pillow so I can sleep through the night without injuring myself or worrying about injuring myself, I'm trying to figure out an eye exam and then I'll need to order glasses. I know *how* to get fries. I even technically could get them, maybe even tonight.
But our fry-craving household has made the decision to wait until we can either get frozen fries or raw potatoes and then enjoy having more fries for less money, because these are the Quarantimes.

I think one of the reasons I'm craving fries in particular is that we have green beans, and we have steak in the freezer, and so I'm looking at this meal thinking that I could have it if I wanted, but the one thing that would be missing is the fries.
I'd say sorry for the meta-venting but honestly I'm venting about the need to let people vent and apologizing for that would be counterproductive.
Anyway. It's interesting to note that I can watch a fictionalized version of an actual queen not eating a steak, and it doesn't bother me because I have steak that I am also not eating, in order to preserve the knowledge that I could have steak if I wanted of.
