However, Corona may be the most covered event in human history. The economy was different then. And consumer behavior has durably shifted.
Why might the consumer economy of 2020 be more vulnerable to a pandemic than the economy of 1918?
Less complex supply chains, better states, more personal savings?
Places that escaped Spanish Flu seem to have either (a) gotten lucky or (b) walled themselves off for the duration.
Places that escape Corona will be enriched for well-run societies which make competent use of tech.

But now we are accustomed to health. And Corona is like the "health" going out.
