Start your Sunday drive with a visit to #DavesCarIDService
Let's start off with this awesome slice of vintage racing, which prompted me to a bit of research. Your dad's pic is from 1954; bike is a 1954 BSA Shooting Star & rider is Kenny Eggers, one of the BSA "Wrecking Crew" who swept the top 5 at 1954 Daytona
Road races were held at Torrey Pines 1951-56, but bike events stopped in 1954. Kenny Eggers won 500cc that year, and is in the AMA HOF. Sadly, he passed away in 2010. Last picture shows him with a replica of his 54 Shooting Star.
and by the way, when Eggers raced at Daytona in 1954, it was right on the beach.
Let's keep topic on vintage racing with this request, featuring 1960s Gasser class at the drags: pic is fuzzy, but pretty sure your pop's coupe is a 37 Ford, and his opponent is in a dragster axle-ed circa 1950 Crosley panel delivery
*please note: I only noticed this cool pic because the requester followed up with a #DavesCarIDService hashtag. If you want to make sure I see your request, remember to add the tag, and please be patient.
This shapely daredeviltress is caressing the bumper of a 1955 Ford. Troops of stunt drivers - like Joie Chitwood's Auto Thrill Show, Swenson's Thrillcade, and the Helldrivers - once roamed America providing entertainment for county fairgoers.
let's continue with Girls On Cars, and this femme fatale atop a beheaded circa 1983 Chevy Impala/Caprice or Pontiac Parisienne
Grandma's walking the tightrope on the bumper of a 1936 Dodge or Plymouth.
Not 100% sure, but I think that's a ~1929 Cadillac sedan with a cardboard cutout of the vivacious pre-Hayes Code Joan Blondell in the trunk.
this one was a little tough to nail down, but Grandma is gracing a 1941 Chrysler Windsor convertible.
This foxy beehived hairhopper is leaning on a 1966 or 67 Pontiac LeMans, customized Bellflower style with heavy metalflake panel paint, frenched antennas, Baby Moons and chromies.
via @yeshuatrujillo, Officer Van Doren is laying down the law on a 1951-53 Nash Rambler. Mamie was one of the most underrated 1950s blonde bombshells IMHO
Kind of a tough call, but I venture Grandma In-Law is smiling coquettishly in front of a 1923-25 Dodge Brothers or Maxwell/Chrysler touring (Maxwell was the predecessor of Chrysler).
saving more Girls On Cars pics for a future episode of IDs. Now, turning to corrections and solutions, a hat tip to @arlasko for solving the mystery of the stripped down truck cab in Western Australia that vexed me yesterday; it's a 50s-ish Mack
oops, I think I overlooked this one when it popped in my requests several weeks ago; it's a 1930 Chevy rumble seat roadster. (If I haven't gotten to your ID requests in 3 weeks, feel free to resubmit)
layup for me, 'cause it belongs to my pal Little Nicky G; 1930 Ford Model A pickup, powered by a SBC, chrome reverse wheels with rare & ginchy Hurst pie crust double stripe cheater slicks in back
Dang, I love this pic of a 1949 Buick Super, Homecoming-parading down Clinton Street in Iowa City in front of the Book & Crook. 1949 was a lackluster 3-4 season for the Hawkeyes, but in a few years Coach Evy would have them at the top of CFB
Time to get to my overdue request box: unfortunately not enough info to nail down an ID here; best I can tell, it's a 37-39 ish GM humpback sedan. Great "Christmas Story" era photo tho.
ditto this stunner of a young father with his newborn; can't really draw any car ID conclusions here, other than it's not a Ford
Trying to even out the Girls On Cars with a vintage Dudes On Cars shot. These guys are flexing in front of a 1932 Buick coupe.
Great photo, but tough call on the ID. I will hazard it's a circa 1926 Dodge, without a lot of confidence. I am certain tho it's not a pickup, but a roadster converted to pickup, and that the pic is later than you think (maybe 1932 or so).
Pretty sure a 1946-48 Plymouth. RIP to your dad, who looks like he was a cool customer back in the day.
These newly arrived Dakotawegians drove to the pond for a dip in a circa 1920 Dodge Brothers touring. A lot of amazing swimwear here, and may I say some of the gals are rather fetching.
I believe this is a circa 1969 Australian Chrysler Valiant.
Squinting thru the glare, I see a 1939 Mercury phaeton with accessory 1940 Ford or Mercury headlight bezels
You are at least a decade early on your dates, as this is a Morris Mini-Minor, first introduced in 1959. The one here could be anywhere from a 59 to 63.

and greetings back from the USA. The unfortunate car here a Volvo PV544 (introduced 1958), which would have made it a fairly new model in 1961.
Neither; it's a 1966 Ford Custom 4 door sedan, the no-frills, no-trim version of the Galaxie 500.
OK, one more Girl On Car for today: Great Grandma is looking stylish with her fox stole and handbag behind a 1955 Olds 88.
That's it for today, drop in again soon for more "Big Friend" #DavesCarIDService
