The latest all-cause death figures for the week ending 24th April have just been published by @ONS

ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulati…

For the first time in the pandemic, all-cause deaths have gone down, but not by much. Image
This slight drop is evident in both sexes... Image
...and all age groups... Image
...but deaths have not fallen in all regions.

A big fall in London, but deaths still rising in the South East, South West, Yorkshire and the East Midlands. Image
The most recent @NISRA data for Northern Ireland also shows all-cause deaths rose there in the week to the 24th April, but overall the number of excess deaths are well below any other UK region. Image
All code for these plots is here:

github.com/VictimOfMaths/…

We should get new Scottish data from @NatRecordsScot tomorrow, so we'll see if Scotland continues their downward trajectory. Image
It's also striking how even on these plots of cumulative deaths in the year(which are not a very sensitive or sensible way of visualising this sort of data), many areas are some way outside of the historic range - just look at London. Image
