I will make a pointed exception for "Car Kings" on Discovery, featuring my friends at GAS / Galpin Speed Shop. Enjoyable car history and restos, without the stupid fake drama

I finally got around to watching Episode 1 last night featuring my good buddies Dave Shuten and @BanksPower restoring Carroll Shelby's 1987 Pantera, the mule car for the Dodge Viper. Gale built the original twin turbo system for the car back in 87, and did the resto too.
*stock DeTomaso Panteras ran Ford 351 Clevelands, but Shelby built this one as a special project for Lee Iacocca at Chrysler, using a 360 Mopar with Banks twin turbo setup. Damn cool car.
Another car show definitely worth watch. Some people think I am a car identification savant (I'm really not), but Steve Magnante is the genuine article. Mindblowing what he can decode from a firewall serial number.

Too bad that many vintage clown-around snapshots were weeded out of the drugstore prints. Luckily this one survived, featuring Great Gramps doing his baggy pants routine in front of a 1941 Buick Super Sedanette.
Another high spirits fun-time shot: there's enough visible here that I can confidently say that Ida is sending love to Sweet Vernice and Ed from the snowy fender of a 1928-29 Ford Model A coupe.

First one today is this stunner, worthy of a still from a Film Noir classic. Time frame is a bit later than you think, as Uncle Ralph and Aunt Joyce are atop a 1951 or 52 Buick Roadmaster.
*to the left is a 1949 Chevy. Buick portholes (Buick called 'em Ventiports) first appeared in 1949 and remained a Buick styling cue for decades; 4 holes were for the top-of-line models. They also became a popular custom car item; I've got 53 Buick ventiports on my 31 Model A

as much as it pains me to say this: well done, Harbaugh

The only thing I'd add: let a player reserve his max draft round to preserve eligibility. For example, a freshman declares for the draft with a max round of 3. If not selected in first 3 rounds, he can withdraw and return to school.
*Personally I'd prefer college athletics simply abandon the whole "amateurism" bullshit and openly pay athletes. Plus allow them to sign an NFL/NBA contract at any time, including the middle of the season.
