#Caring4NHSPeople
Faith leaders have been talking about the spirituality element of health and wellbeing support. We need to pay attention to people in their whole environment says @SonyaWallbank - it's about not only the member of staff at work but their wider life too #Caring4NHSPeople
The longer lockdown continues, the more things like loneliness, anxiety continues says @SonyaWallbank . She encourages teams to check in with their colleagues, think about what processes you have to check in. Ask "are you really ok?" #Caring4NHSPeople
Think about colleagues who are shielding asks @SonyaWallbank . These are at risk of a wider psychological impact due to guilt to not working and actively helping with the response #Caring4NHSPeople

We're now welcoming @PerryTimms who's sharing tips for an energised workforce

#Caring4NHSPeople
The vision of @PerryTimms organisation:

#Caring4NHSPeople
Many colleagues experience some form of burnout. These figures are pre-Covid - they may well currently be higher @PerryTimms #Caring4NHSPeople
A stark reminder that there are leaders who don't understand how best to develop their teams @PerryTimms #Caring4NHSPeople
A cartoon @perrytimms borrowed from @gapingvoid - the most powerful force in the universe is human creativity powered by human energy #Caring4NHSPeople
If you had to define what depletes and generates energy for you through the day, how would you map that out asks @PerryTimms #Caring4NHSPeople
Advice to think about what gives you energy, what you need to conserve energy for @perrytimms #Caring4NHSPeople
When people use timeboxing people felt a greater sense of control over their work and better able to manage their energy says @PerryTimms #Caring4NHSPeople
At the end of a hectic busy day it's easy to question "what did I do all day, what did I achieve?" @PerryTimms suggests a reflective journal at the end of each day helps give a greater sense of control & agency #Caring4NHSPeople
It's more about energy management than time management says @PerryTimms

Thank you Perry for sharing your insights

#Caring4NHSPeople
Our next speaker is our own @helenbevan who is going to be talking about the wellbeing of the Horizons team

#Caring4NHSPeople
It's just as important to think about the wellbeing of staff getting used to working remotely as it is any other group of NHS staff says @helenbevan #Caring4NHSPeople
The Horizons team does a weekly wellbeing survey, asking a range of questions including feeling relaxed. There's not been much change since the change to working remotely due to #Covid-19 social distancing says @helenbevan #Caring4NHSPeople
Focus on individual wellbeing, recommends @helenbevan . We aren't all feeling the same way but there are things we all can do such as create a routine.

Staff are also encouraged to use the national wellbeing offers

#Caring4NHSPeople
Resilience is a team sport says @helenbevan

Tips for effective virtual team meetings:
💡keep camera on
💡check in, check out
💡give everyone a voice
💡wellbeing is first agenda item
💡focus on purpose & meaning

#Caring4NHSPeople
Use the time to learn and grow together. It's an unusual time, think about what you can all learn from one another

#Caring4NHSPeople
Social and connecting time is as important as getting the work done says @helenbevan

#Caring4NHSPeople
Some final reflections from @helenbevan - frantic is a dangerous strategy - slow down! #Caring4NHSPeople
Thank you @helenbevan for sharing your reflections.

We're now moving to a panel conversation with @PerryTimms @helenbevan @ZoeLord1 answering questions from the chat box

#Caring4NHSPeople
Leaders need to give staff more choice and freedom suggests @PerryTimms #Caring4NHSPeople
We need to find the things that unite us as a team says @helenbevan - whether that team is face-to-face is remote. It takes time and effort to unlock people's knowledge and experience, valuing difference - it is worth the investment.

#Caring4NHSPeople
Find ways to connect and things that unite, create belonging rather than constructs that keep us in silos says @PerryTimms #Caring4NHSPeople
Closing thought from @helenbevan - we need different skills to work virtually, we need to think about how we invest in those. If we have awful face-to-face meetings, we'll have awful virtual meetings too! Invest in facilitation, new ways of working together. #Caring4NHSPeople
We're not very kind to ourselves says @PerryTimms - timeboxing and managing energy can give a greater sense of achievement at the end of your working day

#Caring4NHSPeople
Thank you to all our participants, our speakers @PerryTimms @helenbevan , our facilitators @ZoeLord1 @liznyawade1 for a very practical session!

#Caring4NHSPeople
Next week's session will be about improving psychological safety during times of rapid change with @AmyCEdmonson

Joining details will be available here horizonsnhs.com/caring4nhspeop…
