Oxfordshire County Council withdraws its "pink and blue" transgender toolkit guidance authored by Stonewall head of Education, after 13 year old girl brings a case

oxfordmail.co.uk/news/18434781.…

@SafeSchools_UK
This same guidance also used by Barnsley, Birmingham, Derbyshire, Doncaster, Kent, Leicester, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Sheffield, Warwickshire and Merseyside (although a few have also had it under review)
Here are some of the problems with the guidance.....
When parents complained the councils that developed it doubled down

Its never been quite clear who wrote it or signed it off

But it seems like when Oxfordshire County Council sat down and actually did due diligence on it (better late than never) they did not feel confident they could stand behind it in court.
Oxfordshire County Council say they will now wait for official guidance for schools to be produced by @EHRC

This guidance is now over two years late, and a draft of had the same problems as the "Pink and Blue" toolkit and the Equaliteach pack
Rather than heed these defamatory "warnings" perhaps @GEOgovuk and @EHRC should talk to @Transgendertrd and @fairplaywomen who could help them develop guidance in line with the Equality Act and safeguarding.
