After the #COVID19 pandemic, the number of people living with ME and other chronic illnesses will grow.
Debilitating symptoms won’t resolve, and physical isolation won’t end.

Prof Ponting told us: "Unfortunately, it is possible that #COVID19 will lead to an increase in the number of people with ME. I would expect of people who have #COVID19 symptoms quite severely, about 10% [will] have fatigue-like syndromes after 6 months, given current evidence."

Dr Muirhead said: "#Coronavirus is a very novel problem and we are seeing a lot of exciting work [...] all supporting the drive to get some scientific answers for this new and horrible disease. What we need to do is the same sort of movement in finding a cure for ME."
