Becoming successful is not a straight line thing.

Sometimes, the resources available to others won't be available to you.

No need to whine and blame anyone.

Think about what you have at your disposal. Gather the tools you have and get started with those.
When I started learning internet marketing, I had no computer.

Actually, I had nothing.

Just my N2000 monthly pocket money.

All I had was a CD filled with plenty free ebooks on internet marketing that I bought for N700 .
To access the CD, I had to go to a friend of mine who owns a computer during the weekend whenever there was power.

Then, I spent most of my pocket money at the cybercafe to try out the things I was learning from the CD
At some point, I ran out of money to pay at the Cybercafe, so I activated friendship 707 skill - I made friends with the top attendants at 2 Cybercafes in school and they began to give me unlimited free browsing access

So, that is how I solved that problem
Where there is a will, there is a way

Also, there was no Youtube.

So, from the cybercafe, I figured out how to do a lot of things.

E.g. In order to use autoresponders. I will go into the html of a webpage to figure out what was working and keep testing until I got it
Meanwhile, the only html I knew were the basics I learnt from one of the ebooks in the CD

Then I learnt how to write decent copy by rewriting some of the copy I saw online

Then I learnt how to design a website using frontpage also from the cybercafe
(I had some help here from a medicine student who was also into internet marketing. I paid him N5k for the webdesign training which lasted for about 5 hours)

I had to figure out the rest myself

And there were countless "overnight" browsing sessions
All those "wannabe" yahoo boys always wondered what I was up to

I spent my 200L, 300L, 400L school fees on adverts that never worked.

I even collected my junior brother's school fees and spent that one too on adverts

The adverts didn't work too
There were no easy PPC ads like Facebook back then where you could spend tiny amounts of money. So, losing a lot of money on ads was easy

(By the way, this is why I laugh at small business owners who are afraid to spend money on advertising when you can run a $5 a day ad today)
I also encouraged my brother to sell his expensive Sagem phone.

He did and I used the money to try out a "wonder bank"

That one also blew up in my face

From 2006 to 2008, I tried all sorts of things to make money online

Blogging & Adsense - Made about $78
Clickbank affiliate - $153

Forum marketing - About N78,000

Info-marketing - About N56,000 (via my job website)

LOL

My parents didn't understand what I was up to but they supported me in their own way

And here we are today
I made my first N1m online (within a month) in 2011 - Yay!

I have achieved and broken through the targets I set back then.

Today, I have new targets for myself and I believe that with the help of God, I will reach those too
I am a diehard student of success (obvious, huh) and I believe that if you have a goal and pay the price required of you, with the help of God, you will get the goal.

I hope this encouraged you
