Has anyone taken note of the peculiar antics of Scheer, CPC MPs and senators, leadership contestants, and conservative media lately? Wouldn't you think, in the middle of a global pandemic, they would be trying to help, instead of posting conspiracy theories? #cdnpoli 1/8
Shouldn't they, if their goal is to improve life for Canadians, be applauding the positive moves and trying to amicably help to get the country through this? And yet, they are quarreling and obstructing and trying to undermine faith in the government and health officials. 2/8
That seems a bit odd, doesn't it? They are clearly not focusing on the pandemic or Canadians. Instead they are desperately trying to topple the government. At this very worst time for an election. Why do you suppose they are behaving this way? Well, I have a theory... 3/8
If the Trudeau Liberals facilitated a cure for COVID, if they ended homelessness, raised all Canadians out of poverty, ended all boil water advisories, and had the economy humming along splendidly, the CPC would hate it. They would absolutely hate it. 4/8
The CPC would be desperately posting conspiracy theories about pedophile rings in the basements of pizza parlours that have no basement and trying to interview every person PM Trudeau ever met in his life to try to find dirt. 5/8
They would be going through the garbage from Rideau Cottage looking for receipts that suggested anything frivolous or improper. If the Trudeau Liberals made life significantly better for all Canadians, the CPC would be foaming at the mouth with rage. 6/8
And do you know why? Because making life better for Canadians isn't on their radar. They want power. The power to make life better for millionaires and billionaires, and for themselves. Some want to remake Canada as a "Christian" nation where white straight men rule. 7/8
Some want lucrative directorships & perks from big corporations for clearing the way for unbridled capitalism. Some, I daresay, want both. But it is not about us. It is not about Canadian citizens. It has not been since at least 2003 when Harper & MacKay killed the PC Party. 8/8
