I will keep saying it: #WMATA should be providing masks to its riders to raise awareness and ensure everyone's safety. It doesn't matter why some people aren't wearing them; Metro employees and riders alike are at risk for as long as people aren't, and enforcement doesn't work.
If providing free masks and hand sanitizer to everyone maintaining or using any of Metro's services requires significant additional resources, local jurisdictions and/or the federal government should be stepping up to the plate to make it happen. Anything less is failure. #wmata
Masks, even simple cloth ones, offer significant protection to everyone around the mask wearer, so even if #WMATA's employees are wearing masks, they are not protected from the inevitable unmasked rider, for example, and equitable enforcement is a near impossibility. @ATULocal689
