Let’s talk about Husain & me.

A Thread:

1. Husain and I go back 21 years. 1999.

2. I landed in Pakistan. Was appointed

6. He would come to my Penthouse in Islamabad in Diplomatic Enclave, (Royal Enclave) and my home in Karachi on Khayaban E Shamsheer. So much so that he would bring his girlfriend

Of that time to my house along with him. He would sit with my Mother and recite poetry for her.

7. One time on his insistence I kept a dinner at my Penthouse in Islamabad to introduce him to a few Generals and a few Brigadiers. It was also attended by the famous poet

Iftikhar Arif and 2 Ambassadors.

8. During this time The New York Times article came out against me on January 2nd 2000.

9. Hussain came running to my home and told me that let him handle the PR on my behalf. Hire him and since I was new in Pakistan & since

He knew everyone in the media at that time so he would handle my replies in the media against The #NYT article.

10. I hired him for pay and tasked him to get my replies and interviews for rebuttal.

11. The first rebuttal he arranged for me was in @Dawn_News in

January 2nd week 2000.

12. Since I was also appointed as a Media Spokesperson for The NRB, I had begun to give interviews to all newspapers at that time. Remember that there were no news channels except PTV

At that time and he published a full front page interview of mine in his paper. To which Husain got very angry that why I approached Hamid Directly and not through him. I smiled.

14. He kept insisting that I should introduce him go GHQ so he could devise a plan

Against NYT article and since according to him the article was a planned attack on Musharrafs government using me as an excuse since the article had come 9 months after I had left America and ONLY after I joined the GoP

Because I felt there was no need for that and I had already gained enough traction in print media within weeks in Pakistan, after the NYT article that I was handling the propaganda professionally enough.

18. To see today the same man who would defend me at every forum, sit in my home and break bread, sit with my mother and recite poetry, be

Present at every family function at my home and get introduced to everyone I knew, the same person 20 years later sharing the same article that he used to defend against me on his timeline, makes me sick to my stomach. Looking at the hypocrisy of these people

Because my views differ from them and I stayed true to Pakistan and did not sell my soul to the devil even in 3 decades

19. So much more is to be told but I will keep it restrained at this moment because I feel that this is enough to expose the TRUE FACES of these people

I may be new to @Twitter for a lot of people but my interaction with the so called TWITTER “Heroes” goes back decades.

20. I keep my mouth shut and do not expose these people because Allah keeps PARDAAH on my sins and I keep a pardaah on theirs.

21. But when times like these come up in life, I will expose each and every one of them with facts.

24. My humble request to all these power hungry, fame hungry, social climbers

Is that do not force me to expose you.

I have no lust for power like you. I have no desire to belong to a clan. My love is Pakistan. My passion is Pakistan. And I learned that the hard way.
