1. Masks aren't doing what you think they're doing.

Re: masks, from an RN friend:

"Tell me exactly what good are masks for the general public when they aren’t treated in the manner that healthcare workers use them?"
2. When used in the hospital setting they are single use. You never touch the mask and when you remove it, it is by unfastening the strings, dropping it in the trash can and then immediately going to a clean area to wash your hands.
3. In the general population it becomes a moist infectious reservoir, which people constantly touch, play with, readjust, pull down below their noses, pull back up, then touch all kinds of surfaces. If they are infected, what they have done is essentially increase the viral load
4. of contamination every time they touch that mask and then another surface.
5. People put them on, take them off. They wad them up and put them in their pockets, then reuse them. I have seen a dozen politicians do this at press conferences. They throw them in the car seat and put them on again. They are essentially dirty, viral rags.
6. Where is viral load higher? a) Aerosolized spray from a cough or sneeze into the air or b) slime you pick up off an infected mask the last time you touched it and reached to look at a box of Cocoa Pebbles, then decided you really don’t want it and put it back on the shelf?
7. Answer is b
8. The amount of virus suspended in air is incredibly low & becomes more & more dispersed as time goes along. It doesn’t hang in air all that long, but when u contaminate a surface after having touched yr humid, viral breathing concentrator, that can last on a surface for days."
