X : You're not a fan of the BBC?
Me : Today Programme, PM, World at One, Archers ... avid fan.
X : That's radio 4. TV?
Me : Given up. Occasionally the BBC website but I'm losing faith with it quickly. Basically, R4 or I don't care.
X : Do you not watch TV?
Me : Of course, Netflix and Amazon. I also use lots of websites for news. I just don't trust the BBC beyond R4. I've lost faith and I no longer care.
Me : Of course, I would miss the occasional clip I see on youtube etc. But that's about it. Now, losing R4 that would be a major blow .... you are talking civil unrest etc.
X : Have you seen they might close BBC four?
Me : I have now. They can close BBC 1 to 4, I wouldn't notice. As long as they leave Radio 4 alone then we're fine. I find the TV channels way too political. I prefer something more balanced, informative and entertaining like radio 4.

Me : Since we're fond of learning from the private sector in some political circles, I think we should let the private sector take the lead i.e. Eton isn't opening until September. So after then sounds good.
... basically, when some member of the elite is saying send your kids to school whilst at the same time their own are kept away .... well, it's a bit like eat cake, tends to cause pitchforks to sharpen. Leaders should lead. The elite need to fill their schools first.

Me : I have no idea how blue ticks work and I don't see why I would need one or even how you'd apply, assuming you can. I don't see the point as I'm not an organisation or some sort of gov official or some form of TV personality.
... I do have a klout score (apparently). Except, I don't know what it is or whether the service is still running or why you would bother. For me, social media is more about conversation. I don't use it for anything else.

Me : Ok but .. .why? What exactly is the point of doing that?
X : To get more reach.
Me : And that helps how exactly? I have plenty of conversation already.

WL : Thomas Edison's rival, invented AC, changed the world. Why?
Me : I'm just noticing how quickly business leaders are forgotten in our societal memory.
Me : Do you know who Jeff Bezos is?
WL : He runs Amazon.
Me : When you're much older, if you have children, ask your kids when they're about your age. They'll have never heard of Jeff Bezos or if they have, it'll be wrong. But they'll probably know who Nikola Tesla was.
Me : Do you know any business leaders from history?
WL : Rockefeller
Me : Do you know what he did?
WL : No. Do you?
Me : No. But we can talk Nikola Tesla until the cows come home.
