That might explain the ever widening gap between the claimed “tests” and people tested (not far off 700,000 now).
This is bonkers.
They were given 48 hrs to expand capacity to test thousands of healthcare workers, symptomatic or not, racing through limited supplies.

Two weeks later some labs are still waiting for full supplies. It is all hand to mouth.
Meanwhile the Hancock and Johnson Fantasy DUP promise 200k tests a day.

When you are short of key ingredients whether it is reagents or swabs, then you should prioritise strategically.
Instead they pressed on and keep falling short of meaningfully testing 100k PEOPLE a day. Not once has that been done. By a large margin.

Those promised replenishments? They were just that. Promises. Not reality. Some received some but not full replenishment. Others none.

This resulted in labs being unable to test

Yet, without a fully trained tracer workforce and without labs able to run at full capacity for want of supplies, the Government starts relaxing lockdown.
