Lawyers perception of CORRUPTION in Higher JUDICIARY: It is to be noted that on a scale of one to ten, a maximum score of ten suggests that corruption is well entrenched in the higher judiciary.
On the point of the Collegium system of appointments, the advocates in the survey were asked whether the Collegium ensured appointment of the most competent Judges.

Delhi, Madras - NO
Bombay, Calcutta, Gujarat, Patna - YES

Allahabad - 48% earn - 2k to 5k per month

1. Adjudication must be open on the whole.
2. There should be a minimum standard of fairness.
3. Independence of the Judges is critical. And it has to be intelligent independence.

5. It has to be fiduciary - the benefit has to go to the public. The fiduciary nature of power must never be forgotten.
