Others are terrified of Trump. They know if they cross him, he'll try to destroy them. They depend on Trump's base to get elected, so as long as they'd rather have power than do what's right, Trump has them.

I push back hard against the blackmail theory.
#1: It gives the GOP way too much credit. It assumes that but-for the blackmail, they'd stand up for truth and justice and what's right.
