@YNHH People have right to express their freedom, but not to be a threat to others. Esp when some have particularly high risk. Super-spreaders only are revealed retrospectively. A virus shedder is threat…& vast majority don't know it. The secret to the success of the virus.
@YNHH There is little different now than in beginning of March…conditions for spread & harm still exist. Some caution, avid use of masks, protection of others. We can re-engage gingerly, revive the economy, & be safe. But we must do so by outwitting the virus, cutting off the spread.
@YNHH Reckless abandon will land us back where we were unless by some miracle the infectivity of the virus changes. But we cannot depend on miracles. We must proceed as if it is up to us to battle and defeat the virus. No magical thinking… we must be grounded in the sound approaches.
@YNHH On the wards, I see so many vulnerable people. In usual times we need to work to keep them safe from nosocomial infections. Now the responsibility is even greater - and we need to help them to protect themselves too. To realize the threat and consider it essential to wear masks.
@YNHH A humbling aspect of my time on the wards is seeing the remarkable service of so many healthcare workers…people who've been in the hospital throughout our difficult stretch. Clinicians, clerks, transport, environmental services,food services, lab techs & more. So much gratitude.
