It is all such shabby game playing when tens of thousands have lost their lives.
Add another 450k tests posted but not yet actually tested.
That is 800,000 of the shortfall.

This was my thread from yesterday (Wednesday) where I had a go (not for the first time) to find out where the numbers came from.
I suspect another 200k or so of tests come from serology surveillance testing (not disease testing with results to patients).

In fact it could be even worse than I had thought.
If they are counting these not just as two “tests” but “two persons tested”, the gap between cumulative tests and persons tested has just grown by another 350k.
I.e the cumulative “persons tested” could go down to 1,714,329.

Time this was cleaned up rapidly, and full transparency about who ordered this to be the way data was counted in these data fields.

At least in the U.K. if you spend long enough digging around in the back room of the numbers we can see how many serology (rear view mirror) tests were sling in with “Daily Tests” number theatre. Plenty else opaque
