Covid-19 has become one of the biggest killers of 2020

more than 235,000 lives have been lost to CV19, making it more deadly than the SARS, H1N1, MERS, & Ebola COMBINED. But it is also killing more people than other, more familiar, causes of death. economist.com/graphic-detail…
This is definitely one to keep for those who say

“But cancer”
“But road accidents”
“But flu”

Nope. None killing in these numbers this fast and furious. And then there are the excess deaths.
Data below on different causes of death.
Again. Then the excess deaths. And this is with multiple lockdowns around the world.

Meanwhile vodka sales are up in Russia and guns in America. Even more inventive ways to kill oneself...or others.

But at least there should have been fewer road accidents, maybe less asthma

Communication of complex science in a time of uncertainty takes transparency, including about mistakes, some of which are inevitable.

There is insufficient transparency and honesty, probably driven by fear. Which is a shame as it is a root to better decision making and trust.

Lockdown was 23rd March. No driving g around the country for ordinary folks.

27 March : Announced Johnson and Hancock had CV and Cummings seen dashing off.

His wife Mary in interview said she got sick first and Dom did rush hime to look after her, but he got sick the next day
The dash home was on a Friday and Dom got sick “over the weekend”, according to Downing Street.

By 31st March Durham Constabulary confirmed that “the individual in question was self isolating”

So he and Mary and son must have driven up somewhere between Sat 28th and Tues 31st
