This is the real barrier to ME peace. This culture of Jew hate. It’s far easier to redraw a line on a map or to relocate a town than it is to shift an inner world of hate so ideologically entrenched. But challenging hateful intent is the real necessary work that can’t be avoided
In 2005 Israel disengaged entirely from Gaza. There isn’t a single Jew there. Thousands of Jews were relocated yet Israel was still met with rockets & death tunnels. The barrier to peace is not Israeli action - it’s murderous intent from Israel’s neighbours.
Nothing will change unless the world stands up robustly to that intent, stops turning a blind eye to it and stops indulging in a fantasy that it will somehow dissipate of its own accord further down the line.
Antisemitism - including the denial of Jewish self-determination - is not a symptom of the conflict - it is a contributing cause. Challenging the purveyors of this racism should be front and centre in the action of anyone who claims to want peace. Anything else is fraud.
