Mike Pompeo racked up quite the slate of scandals this week. It’s getting hard to keep track, so we made a list.

The bottom line is: we need an impartial IG at the State Dept. to investigate all of this, but Trump just fired him. (We’re investigating)

After Trump fired the State Department IG on Friday night, Pompeo said he asked Trump to fire him for “undermining” the department. Actually, the IG was finishing legitimate investigations into Pompeo’s wrongdoing.

Now we know there was a *lot* to investigate...
The first scandal to break was that Pompeo allegedly made a staffer run personal errands, including walking his dog and picking up his dry cleaning.

Maybe this seems like small potatoes, but it’s a slippery slope:

The IG was also probing Pompeo’s fast-tracking an $8 billion arms sale to Saudi Arabia, stunning diplomats, and was nearly finished. Pompeo refused to be interviewed for the investigation, and reportedly pushed officials to find a way to justify the move.

On Tuesday, news broke that Pompeo was hosting taxpayer funded “Madison Dinners” to socialize with media and business leaders.

Only 14% of the attendees were diplomatic, and Pompeo’s wife was keeping track of contacts on her personal email.

On Thursday night, a story dropped about Pompeo’s frequent trips to Kansas to meet with donors, like Charles Koch.

Of course, 3 out of 4 trips were taxpayer funded and supposed to be for State Dept. business.

CREW has been raising the alarm about Pompeo’s Kansas travel for months, exposing him for acting more like a candidate for Senate in Kansas than a Secretary of State.

Pompeo has offered contradictory explanations for the firing of the IG. He protested that he didn’t even know what Linick was investigating, but then undercut his own claim saying that he answered questions for one of the probes.

Secretary of State Pompeo is racking up scandals so quickly that he's giving Scott Pruitt a run for his money. Firing the watchdog investigating abuse of taxpayer money and government staff is a poor effort to cover up the behavior.

All of it must come to light.
