#DavesCarIDService is ready to get into the groove
Batting leadoff today is this neat request from the Shoeless Joe Jackson Museum in Greenville SC. I can confirm it is a 1940 Packard coupe, either 110, 120, or 160, but not enough hood ornament info here to narrow down model.

In terms of locating one, I recommend Hemmings dot com. There's a wide price range on this one, depending on specific model and condition; could be as low as $20k for a decent condition 110, as high as $75k for a mint 160.
There's a limit to my car ID skills, and I'm afraid this astonishing streamliner exceeds it. Feels like an early 30s Skoda or Horch, but my guess is a coachbuilt body on a British (Bentley?) chassis. Pinging @Sideshow_JaneV3 & @Harry_Bergeron for help here
This'd be a 1920-26 Indian Scout, with a 34 ci (600cc) flathead V twin. I am delighted to tell you it's the same model that Burt Munro famously honed and tweaked until it became the World's Fastest Indian.
The aforementioned Burt Munro with his 1920 Indian Scout 34 (without its streamlined fairing). He bought it new in 1920, and after 40+ years of experiments and modifications, he eventually got it up to 190 mph at Bonneville.
Yessir, it's a 1936 Ford convertible which your dad has hopped up with an Eddie Meyer Hollywood intake and a pair of (I think) Ford/Holley 8BA carbs
Sure is, a very early Model T coupe, 1917-20 with wood pillars.
One of the easier car ID jobs, a 1972 Buick Riviera.
An MG T series, I believe a circa 1948 TC Midget
1937 Plymouth, with some telltale signs of hot rodding underneath
1938 Chevy Master Deluxe 2 dr sedan
2 of the more iconic cars spotted Down Under; a 1965 Shelby Cobra and a '32 Ford roadster hot rod. However, both of these are fiberglass replicas.
Pole position here is a 1957 Plymouth Savoy, alongside a '53-'54 Packard Clipper; next row is a pair of Pontiacs, 55 on the left, 49 on right; row 3 is 52 Chevy (L) and 53 Buick (R)
A mutant mashup of a 1968-69 Oldsmobile Toronado and an Airstream trailer. Can't tell if I'm more offended or delighted by this.
A circa 1968 Argentinian-made IKA Torino 380. A very handsome car that underneath is basically a humble AMC Rambler, with styling by Pininfarina.
Found cars and such are cool, but I have resolved to focus on cool old family pics like this. I am please to inform you that Grandpa was a straight up gangster in this 1931 LaSalle.
A humble abode with prestige car, a 1950 Buick
That is one crazy-big fish in a brass era, circa 1913 Ford Model T touring. Love that "Ford The Universal Car" sign
Hope dad was able to change the flat on his 1946-47 Oldsmobile before a bear attack
Holy shnikeys, that's a 1970-71 Plymouth AAR Cuda, and I hope Dad held onto it. "AAR" was for Dan Gurney's All American Racing team that competed in Trans Am road racing class. Worth ~$100k today.
A little blurry, but I believe this photo from Old Mexico features a 1954 Ford with a continental kit
Nope, this public display of affection was alongside a 1950-54 Nash Rambler with the sardine can convertible top.
Here's a better display of how that top worked
65 Ford Galaxie convertible, murdered out with black suede paint, baby Moons/chromies and lakes pipes
Uncle's stylin' & profilin' on the hood of a 1957 Ford Fairlane
Lil' fedora-wearing Dad & his family are with a 1949 Chevy.
Car here is a mogul-worthy 1928-29 Packard 8 Phaeton, and I would date the photo earlier. Car and clothes look more like circa 1928-30 than late 30s.
These 2 pony-ridin' Texas desperadoes are with a 1948-50 Ford F1 pickup
Fords galore here; to the right is 1947-48 Tudor, to left is 1955 Customline, behind it is a 1954.
Lots of symmetry here with two 1953 Plymouths wearing 1957 Iowa plates; on right, Crawford County, on left Linn County.
Dad was dressed and driving to impress with a 1939 Hudson Country Club convertible.
A Dracula-worthy 1948 Humber Pullman limousine
The split windshield and radio antenna right above it say 1940 Ford Deluxe.
That's a 23-25 Ford Model T peeking in from the right, and the other wood spoke wheel cars & attire are telling me it's most likely 1929. See, I'm so nice I even help out Minnesota Gophers.
That's it for #DavesCarIDService today, back tomorrow for more automotive detective work.
