4th day running no data provided on the numbers of people tested due to “technical issues” with pillar 2 reporting
134 people have died
The usual work of fiction on numbers tested.

2004 people tested were positive. Apparently the “technical issues” don’t prevent reporting that
49,503 tests "in the post"

Still continuing to mix up diagnostic tests and surveillance anonymised tests (4562 yesterday) in the headline test numbers

That means 54,065 of the claimed 110,401 tests were not diagnostic tests at all.

56,336 maybe but we don’t know double counts
I see the small print notes that the daily tests number is 38,682 lower and lab confirmed cases 2,039 lower than the difference between today’s and yesterday’s cumulative totals.

I really think a very full explanation about what is going on is needed.
This is the “explanation given in the longer notes.

I don’t understand why integrating labs causes a drop of 38k tests.

gov.uk/guidance/coron…
I attach ONS data reports up to w/e 15th May.

It says of the DHSC death data

“We continue to see COVID-related death registrations subsequently running approx. one third higher than the daily numbers reported at the time”

So deaths under reported even on DHSC criteria
Community/care hime deaths still running much higher than DHSC reported deaths, but the gap may be narrowing in the last week or so.
