376/CON'T PREVIOUS TWEET. Given the complexities, as non-lawyer suspect @Yamiche this is probably more practical as an interesting potential @NewsHour story than as a legal theory. That said, these international structures, when vocalized, help to dissuade officials from crimes.

405/CON'T Alas, since 2014, authoritarianism in the P5 has gotten much worse, with two P5 nations removing term limits and several going more authoritarian. These are good reasons why multi-lateral institutions should be concerned about democratic norms in the US.

410/The US pulled out of the @IntlCrimCourt's Rome statute so getting "The Hague" trending is more useless hashtag-ivism. The UN, ICC &c mostly aren't coming to save us. Earlier in this timeline there are viable options for accountability, but at this point the main one is: VOTE.
