Cuomo won’t feel what the lockdown is doing to New Yorkers until he stays put at his house for 2 weeks.

My take on Cuomo is not suggesting that he is ill intentioned. It’s just an observation as to how he does/does not do certain things. Another point is how he argues that lockdowns are about saving lives while opening is just money. LOOK at suicides/fatal ODs; loss of Dr visits!
Third point on @NYGovCuomo: He thinks THE reason we did not hit 30K - 40K ICUs at Apex as he feared 2-3 weeks out, is lockdowns. But studies show that hospital/ICU rates are simply way lower than what was feared at the time. Yet he does not adjust lockdown policies accordingly.
The above 3 points are my “issues” with @NYGovCuomo’s overall approach on the lockdowns, but no matter how many times I write about it I am talking to the four walls. No one around him on staff or in media asks him about this. Hence we are still in Phase 1 or less. Whatever.
For example, mid-March Cuomo said that the hospital rate is 17% and “these thing keep you up at night.” A week later it was 13%. Average range was 15% and a fifth + need the ICU. Hence:
1 million cases; 150K hospital; 35K ICU. But real hospital rate is +3% not 15 percent!

Ok but we are now TWO MONTHS AFTER “at the time.” It’s known times over that the hosptial rate is 80% lower than what was feared at the time. Did he ease lockdowns policies by 80%? How about 50% to be safe?

As for “Cuomo not knowing it at the time,” see this chart: If he looked at the total ICU case AT THE TIME (Black bars) he would see that NY is not anywhere close to rising on pace for 35K ICUs at Apex (April 9 range). Whatever. Been here 50 times. Talking to the walls.
