White silence equals complicity with white supremacy. If white people truly want to be allies in ending anti-Black racism, that requires listening to Black activists & centering the needs and demands of those most affected by state violence. (2/5)
It means actually learning the history of this violent country, speaking out, talking to and getting your own people, supporting local POC groups, and most importantly - to challenge systems, policies, and institutions of oppression. (3/5)
It's not the time to say you're tired, to expect the state to "handle" it, to get your 10th implicit bias training, to re-read your books on racism, to write another equity statement, to ignore/dismiss/deny or to expect Black & brown people to fight this fight by ourselves (4/5)
No - this is the time to be bold and to do what's right because it *cannot* be the sole burden of Black people and non-Black people of color to dismantle the systems of oppression that were created by white people for the benefit of white privilege. (5/5)
