Government strategy is simple regarding Covid. Lockdown over long period of time is economically unsustainable therefore let's open it all up and reach the peak which we either way will sooner or later so why delay and hurt economy. So its up to people to follow SOPs.
Whether its a good strategy, bad strategy or no strategy that's debatable. Could government had handle it better from start ? Possibly, yes. Mixed signaling didn't help. Unfortunately medical professionals are the collateral damage in all this and lives are at stake.
What other options does the government have ? Lockdown is off the table. But did the government really had to open up everything so fast ? How fast will we move towards the peak and will our medical infrastructure handle the pace ? Only government has all the data to judge.
Government has failed in communicating its strategy. People think its conspiracy. WhatsApp theories that spread like wildfire didn't help the cause. Now we are at a point where people are on their own. Follow SOPs and save yourself and your loved ones or become a statistic.
