Oh, yeah, and an update on the CARES Act.
Which is happening first.
Brautigam: State received significant funds from feds. Last week, it determined $217.8M would be shared with counties that didn't receive their own federal funds.
There's a process: Municipalities in every county have to work together and with the county to come up with a plan or strategy for how the funds should be distributed and for what.
BoCo is entitled to around $28M, Brautigam says.
A city team is working with county and other municipalities at a weekly meeting to come up with BoCo's strategy for reimbursement.
Applications will be separate since the state is the distributing agent, not the county.
On the list for reimbursement: cleaning services, medical supplies, pay for employees who have been "substantially dedicated" to COVID response, health equity fun and human services fund, grant program to small biz, unemployment insurance, rental assistance
"We have spent quite a bit of $$ as have other communities and the county," Brautigam says.
That reminds me, I never got an answer like 2 months ago when I asked how much the city had spent on COVID so far.
