@benhoneill some assumptions:
- people in crypto pre-2017 who are not active hardcore traders are already non-custodial.
- people who entered crypto during bull run will slowly move to non-custodial for various reason (games, weird dapps, a friend having their coinbase hacked, whatever)

@benhoneill - the next bull run will be speculative and those people will onboard and likely stay on coinbase et al. BUT as more and more valuable dapps come to be there are more and more reasons to go non-custodial

@benhoneill and once you are non custodial, the effort to use a cex is more trouble than its worth.
1. time delays are terrible once you get used to dex's.
2. logging into your 2fa gated system is so much more work than just going to a website.

@benhoneill #. as dex's solve gas / order matching core stuff, even users who really fancy themselves day-traders will see increased arb ops between cex/dex and dex/dex. this increases liquidity and competition and, again, why use a cex if a dex is competitive on price?

5 years ago react has first stable release. most people used jquery if they were building random websites / webapps.

interoperability=more users using dexs, knowingly and unknowingly.

dexs are already more convenient, will be more competitive price-wise.

dex UX will improve for manual trading.

w/ competitive $, hardcore traders opt for dex for transparency, programability, <risk.
