Are others having this experience where every night a different, racist place you used to live that you haven't thought about in a while pops up in your feed being racist about #BLM and it immediately takes you back to some racist thing that happened to you while you lived there?
Moving around the country while black is really about learning how each new community hates you in its own specific, weird little way. Learning which parts of which towns are *not okay* for you to visit. Learning new "deeply held traditions" of racism that can get you killed.
I remember my freshman year at college, my now-wife wanted to go the SPD parade. IN SOUTHY.

She's from Sub-Saharan Africa and I was trying to, like, gently explain why that was a bad idea.

A Boston-bred roommate cut to the chase: "You're... black. You can't go to that."
