Here's a breakdown of why and how we redesigned NALA bit.ly/3eNZQ9Y #MobileMoney #UXDesign #Africa #Tanzania
1. Quick recap: NALA is a mobile money application that helps put together mobile money wallets in one app. With it, you can make payments and cash-out while offline and at no additional costs! 😃
2. Because of the accounts integration, NALA gives you access to a smart transaction history across all wallets for free!
3. The main reason for the redesign was to find a way to give value to people, even before they ever made their first transaction through NALA.
4. After conducting user interviews, we learned that to earn trust from prospective customers, we needed to bring the moment of discovery closer in our user journey 💡
5. We then ran design sprints; ideating, sketching, doing wireframes, building prototypes all the while running 60+ usability tests and interviews for weeks.
6. From that, we learned that our opportunity lied with an already existing feature — the transaction history! 😃 So we doubled-down on that to make it smarter and better.
7. First, we created a feature that imports old transactions in the app. With it, a user can access their full transaction history from mobile money accounts present in their devices — even before they start transacting using NALA 😃
8. We then upgraded the transaction history tool — giving it an advanced search function together with a new memo feature. You can even add emojis! 😎
9. We also gave our home screen a new look — a new card layout, quick access to your transaction history, and a new bottom navigation with a new action button 💥
10. And lastly, we redesigned our help and support center — Mama NALA. We've revised our FAQs and added more solutions for you. You can even call our customer success team if you are in Tanzania 🇹🇿
