NYC suspended habeas corpus and most major cities suspended the fucking first amendment. They’re attacking press and arresting legal observers. They’re using agitators and telling you BLM and Antifa are terrifying threats so you’ll let them do it! And you’re falling for it!
Anyone in NYC out past curfew, an arbitrarily created law invented so NYPD can arrest more people, can be detained indefinitely for any reason! You cannot accept that because the NYPD said some people are throwing rocks.
I don’t know why so many people are just accepting this narrative that BLM protesters are scary professional anarchists with no regard for human life blabla whatever. Of course that’s what the government will say when they want to remove political opposition.

The police have done such a good job of making white Americans afraid of Black people that they honestly believe if the cops don’t have fucking tanks and machine guns, Black men are gonna bust their doors down and stab them while they steal their TV.
Watch this lady. She thinks a Black Lives Matter sign is going to summon the “wrong people” (Black people) who are then going to start rioting and shooting. She is fine with ending the 1st Amendment right then and there bc of it.
This is how you turn a democracy into an autocracy. You make a minority group a scapegoat and say the only way to protect the majority group is for the leader to have new, far-reaching powers. And then of course they never give those powers up.
I know why the Trump supporters believe it, because they’re insanely racist. But for all the people who consider themselves moderate or liberal but can’t stop talking about looting and rioting - you’re just fucking stupid and gullible, signing away your freedom bc you’re scared.

America is watching their police tear gas, shoot, and violently beat protesters with batons and they’re OK with it because they think the alternative is chaos. A riot. Lawlessness. But the police are rioting chaotically and lawlessly right now.
