Sometimes in opposing the powerful we end up centering the powerful. It's a spectrum that runs from "reforming" or "educating" them all the way to "hating" or "destroying" them. This is a mistake. Your priority should be to center the underprivileged, not the privileged.
The system will spin on its head not when you set out to "reform it", but when those it's built to exclude acquire enough power and relevance to force it to either change or perish. Power does not give way except to power. If you're not building power you're getting nowhere.
To obsess about the powerful is to center the powerful. Do not put them in the center of the frame.
