This is so right on. Having just been through a suicide attempt in the midst of everyone "talking about it" around Suicide prevention week, I can confirm it's a useless platitude and pretty crap advice.

Without exception, my close support network are mentally ill or/and disabled. Most have had MH crises in the last year (surprise). Most have semi-regular issues with ideation. We understand it and each other and we can talk about it in consensual way.

But if you're a MI person in crisis, and you knows 2/3 of your network are also in crisis, and the 3rd you've not heard from in a few days which probably means they are as well - who are you supposed to talk to?

Some feelings re GRA news: I'm frustrated, upset, and aware that it feels likely but it's not an official statement. I'm mostly relieved there's no roll backs. The terfs have done damage with disinformation but that's all it is. Self ID is still a thing. This was about a document
I'll link helpful takes rather than rehashing, but essentially self ID gives us the ability to change almost all of our documents. This was about changing sex markers on birth certificates - important, but only in very specific places. We still have access everywhere we should.
That's what needs to be explained. And that's where you come in, cis people. We're so exhausted from having this conversation. A great example (and thread) of real allyship.

I had a frustrating fat convo with the GP. She's starting to feel over inquisitive about my GIC stuff, not inappropriate yet but the signs are there.
I asked to weigh myself because I have an Endo appt next week and I don't own scales

She asked if I need to be a certain weight, I explained it's based on BMI < 30 which is bullshit bc BMI is bullshit.

I'd literally just got done telling her that I didn't eat for 3 days because of pain+fatigue etc

I've been in what feels like a tunnel of triggers for the last 6 months. I've spent more of lockdown dissociating than lucid. I've lost so much time. I've sometimes forgotten to eat for 3 days. This is my existence
