#WorldFoodSafetyDay currently we do not have sufficient data. However, the govt can harness data from the @FAO because the burden of #FoodSafety is born disproportionately in the global system. Data can be mined from NGOs, farmers across value chains

Gov't should work with relevant agencies to carry out advocacies and the @NOA_Nigeria must wake up to #FoodSafety responsibility.

Apart from @NafdacAgency Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (FSAN) Directorate is to take all steps to ensure that food manufactured, imported, exported, distributed, sold, advertised and used in Nigeria meet the highest standard of #FoodSafety

We have food with fake labels in Supermarkets even though #FSAN is expected to regulate activities dealing with proper labeling of foods (e.g. ingredients, nutrition, health claims) are truthful, not misleading and are verifiable.
