Indian Air Force has designed, developed & inducted an indigenous Airborne Rescue POD for Isolated Transportation (ARPIT). This will be utilised for evacuation of critical patients with infectious diseases including #COVID-19 from high altitude area, isolated and remote places.
Supporting the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” call by Hon’ble PM, only indigenous materials have been used to fabricate this pod. This indigenously designed system has been developed at a cost of Rs60,000 only, which is very less as compared to the imported systems costing up to Rs 60 Lakh
Design requirements are based on the guidelines issued by @MoHFW_INDIA, National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) & Centre for Disease Control (CDC), USA.  The IAF is inducting a total of 7 ARPITS as of now.

A special flight of IAF comprising of the crew, medical team & support staff departed from Air Force Station, Palam on 26 Feb 20. As a goodwill gesture from Government of India, IAF airlifted approximately 15 tonnes of medical supplies in C-17 Globemaster III to Wuhan, China.
On its return, the same aircraft will retrieve approx 120 personnel+05 children in arms from Wuhan. The returning passengers will mainly comprise of Indian citizens & citizens from friendly foreign countries. It is likely to return on 27 Feb 20 to Air Force Station, Palam.

#Remembering1971: On 03 Dec 1971 at 1747 hours, PAF launched simultaneous attacks on a number of forward IAF bases at Srinagar, Amritsar & Pathankot.
Four of the attacking PAF aircraft were hit by Indian Air Defence, one each over Pathankot, Halwara, Amritsar & a B-57 near Agra.
On 3 Dec 1971 at 11:50 PM, IAF goes into action with retaliatory attacks on Pakistani Airfields.
IAF attacks Chanderi, Shorkot, Murid, Mianwali, Masroor, Risalwala, Changa Manga and Sargodha, hitting a no. of PAF aircraft on ground & sets petrol tanks on fire.

#Remebering1971 : Early hours of 04 Dec 1971, immediate Close Air Support missions were launched by IAF in support of No.35 Bde in the Hussainiwala area. The strike missions were flown by Su-7 aircrafts and several enemy tanks & gun positions were destroyed by IAF.

#Update on #An32 crash: Eight members of the rescue team have reached the crash site today morning. IAF is sad to inform that there are no survivors from the crash of An32.
Following air-warriors lost their life in the tragic #An32 crash - W/C GM Charles, S/L H Vinod, F/L R Thapa, F/L A Tanwar, F/L S Mohanty, F/L MK Garg, WO KK Mishra, Sgt Anoop Kumar, Cpl Sherin, LAC SK Singh, LAC Pankaj, NC(E) Putali & NC(E) Rajesh Kumar.
IAF Pays tribute to the brave Air-warriors who lost their life during the #An32 crash on 03 Jun 2019 and stands by with the families of the victims. May their soul rest in peace.
