/ the in vitro study does indeed show, as you say, that LA strongly inhibits viral replication and thus strongly drops viral load. the caveat being that this occurs at non-physiological levels that are x2-5 higher than plasma values (per my back of the envelope estimation)
/ the n3 rat study shows that high-dose fish oil dampened inflammation too much, increasing mortality. this is analogous to when people take too much anti-inflammatories for pain, but eventually end up with paradoxically worse pain (possibly due to interference with resolvins?)
/ despite the high dose n3 being clinically contraindicated and useful to know, i do not see it as an argument for increasing LA or keeping at the high levels seen in the Western diet. it's more so cautions us against high dose n3
/ the high fat vs control/low fat study in rats shows increased survival in the low-fat group. unfortunately, there’s no breakdown of what was in the diet; was it the increased carbs that helped? the higher oleic acid? the more LA? we don’t know
/ overall, the in vitro & 2 rat studies aren't convincing evidence that increasing dietary LA is a good strategy for fighting Covid. the ARDS pathway detailed by @TuckerGoodrich is consistent from rats to humans provides a much more consistent and convincing picture
/ the fact alone that high n6 TPN is disastrous in ventilated patients is in and of itself much stronger evidence than all 3 of those 3 studies combined, in my opinion

lastly, i'll reitirate the 'timing' factor caveat of @TuckerGoodrich argument:
/ dropping dietary n6 seed oils when already sick with Covid may not be very impactful. tissue levels would only come down over longer time periods of time (a couple months?). however, as a *preventative* strategy, it makes a ton of sense (as i'm sure you'd agree)
