Can we sit in the discomfort and imagine what kind of hatred it has to take for any human to take another human's life let alone kneel on a man's neck for 8 min and 46 seconds while he pled
Can we sit through the discomfort, the anxiety and our heart beating heavily, (as mine did) as we know the end that's coming, the same end George knew was coming?
Did anyone feel a knee jerk reaction to 'defend' or make an excuse that would only further the racial divide or
These are important questions and none asked in judgment, it just is.
Can we sit and realize that George Floyd's murder is another in our face, a reality of what's been going
To be honest, for me to post this on my wall, almost knowing I will get push back and maybe even lose some friends is difficult however it needs to be said and while I'm probably making a mess out of it, however that's how we grow and learn,
I'm dedicated to continuing to try, to learn, to stand up, use my voice and try my damndest to be the ally my black brothers and sisters need and deserve!
One thing I know for sure is that if we/I ever want to be part of
WE/I must NOT be silent, it's up to us to educate each other, to call out what we know is
We/I owe it to all we know and the so many we don't, whose lives are and always have clearly been different than ours, because of the color of one's skin.
Please, we have an opportunity to make a pivotal change, however for our very young country
The only way to heal is to acknowledge the hurt and disparities that we as a country have done and continueto do, only then can we actually heal... as my teacher says,
