OK here’s a big thread of pictures from Lake Street in Minneapolis, the heart of where the riots went down.

Might take me a little while to get all these.

Many businesses had appeals to the rioters not to harm them.
#MinneapolisRiots #LakeStreet
Here was a Walgreens they burnt to the ground.
Hope this place doesn’t get robbed in the meantime.
The Max It Pawn, where a looter decided their life was worth the loot the first night.
Inside view
Pretty sure this place got cleaned out.
The back door. Yeah I’m sure there isn’t.
This pit is the remains of the Addis Ababa Ethiopian restaurant, the Town Talk diner, Restaurante El Nuevo Rodeo, a staffing agency, check cashing place Gandhi Mahal and a Native American youth nonprofit.
I should’ve taken better notes at the time. I’m trying to identify things based on curbing marks and the profiles of buildings in the background.

Really stuck a blow against “white supremacy” by burning down that block guys.
A lot of apartments were above those stores too. This used to be a MetroPCS with apartments above it.
Midori’s Floating World Cafe. Weird looking joint, never went in it. That building surely going to be condemned now.
This is the shopping complex just got completely devastated and looted first thing. Used to be a Target, a Cub, an Aldi, a Wendy’s, an AutoZone, a Dollar Tree, offices for the school district and more.

Now there’s nothing.
The second nearby location of GM tobacco. The guys trying to be tacticool we’re in front of the other one. When the mob came, they left, both burned.
The former Minnehaha Lake Wine and spirits. A lot of iconic pictures got taken of this place burning.
Apparently not enough...
Hey, Target painted their plywood red. Keeps with the aesthetic of the building that’s looted and nobody can shop in now.
This was the AutoZone that burned before anything else.
Mama Safia’s Kitchen. Another blow against white supremacy from Antifa. Luckily it had a very successful GoFundMe.
This was taped to the plywood of a small business further down the street. Maybe an effort to keep themselves from being burned too.
Here we have the Minneapolis 3rd precinct that @MayorFrey intentionally fed to the rioters a night to hoping to satisfy them.
That worked like a charm, didn’t it @MayorFrey
Took them a little while but eventually they burned it.
And before we leave this area, we’re not thinking Arby’s and neither will anyone else for a long time...if ever.
Twitter apparently decided I was posting too much and made me take a break. We continue.

Heading east receive another appeal for leniency. It was a liquor store though so I’m sure that worked out great.
Cadillac Pawn. Another place the owner foolishly thought that he owned it and tried to defend it. The police came by and arrested him so that the looters could have free reign. And boy did they clean that place out...
The second of at least two US Bank locations that were just completely destroyed.
Liquor stores and drugstores. Neither one stood a chance.

you know, for justice.
A whole strip of oppressive white supremacist businesses went down here. Including Mirasol Express, El Sabor Chuchi, Fatima African Hair Braiding, Agencia Elektra, Levels MPLS and a Boost Mobile.
This mural was on that building when it still existed.

Another small business trying to keep the mob from attacking them.
This place I almost want to take personally. The former Uncle Hugo‘s/Uncle Edgar’s bookstore.
This place isn’t even on Lake Street. They had to go out of their way to burn this.
#UncleHugos
You can still make out a lot of books in the wreckage.
Example of “if you don’t laugh, you’ll cry”. I think it might be a bit more than temporary.
You know I’m starting to notice a theme on George Floyd Avenue.

The burnt out brown building was a seafood and chicken place. The missing section used to be a beauty supply store and a cricket wireless.
They must really hate car repair because I don’t think an AutoZone survived.
Crossing under 35W we come upon what used to be a tobacco store, a check cashing place and a temp agency.
The hibachi buffet tries to keep everyone’s spirits up with some nice art. From what I read I think they were damaged but not burned.
There were more Floyd murals than you can shake a stick at.
This right here I think is evidence that #AntiFa was coordinating the destruction. Their little commie cool bar wasn’t even scratched. They didn’t even feel the need to put up plywood even though everyone around them did and the Target right across the street got wrecked.
Target in question.
Giordano‘s gets the brick too. Or maybe it was because they were unlucky enough to be across the street from one of those hated drug stores.
Of course the Namaste Cafe was totally unharmed.

You know the kind of people who put “spiritual but not religious” in their bio and use phrases like “Namaste” are the first ones to put on a black balaclava and play revolutionary.
I also noticed that the more bougie white progressive a businesses customer base was, the more Justice for George artwork they had commissioned on their plywood.

And that’s it folks! Hope you enjoyed this on the ground look at what that # everyone’s pushing did to this town.
